Canoe Night 3

Some people say if man were meant to travel through water, he would have gills. These people are idiots. However, 82% of our scouts are not idiots, and realize the virtues of water travel. It can be used for pleasure, transportation, and most importantly, getting away from angry velociraptors in a pinch (everyone knows they can't swim).

Now, while canoeing is certainly not rocket surgery, there still are some things you need to know before you come out. You will want to bring swimming clothes, (eg swimsuit, non-cotton shirt, obnoxious floaty thingies that go around your waist.) sunscreen, (preferably waterproof, for obvious reasons), a water bottle, (Full, although the Huron River is most definitely a clean and pure water source, most people don't like the taste) and velociraptor repellent. (You can never be too careful.) Towels are recommended, however don't take them in the canoe with you, or only 81% of our scouts will not be idiots.

If you don't know how to canoe, that's fine! Just remember the side with the big hole in it goes on the top, and you shall be fine. If you already know how to canoe, good for you! Unfortunately for you guys, the side with the big hole in it will not always be on top. So, come out and enjoy the wonderful joy of canoeing!

We will be doing a bunch of water activities later in the summer, thus it is imperative that scouts come on these meetings so they don't act like a fish out of water. Even though they're in the water. Also, scouts must have been swim checked (passing is not necessary, just checked) in order to come on this trip.
