Art Fair -- Adult signup sheet updated 2012-07-12

**Breaking News - the Adult signup sheet has been updated as of 7-15!

Also please note we have ADDED a more detailed list of instructions and info - it's shown as an attached document

below.  Among other details, note that the place to report is described in detail.   Look for the storage POD (trailer) on

Thayer Street, next to Hill Auditorium between North University and Washington Streets.

Several parents have mentioned that their sons haven't yet been contacted regarding a signup.     From the adult side,

understand that the signups for the Scouts are being done through the patrol leader structure;   while the patrol leaders

are great Scouts, they aren't as experienced in email communications or followup as some of us adults!  (Though they

are better than some other adults!)

One suggestion - if a parent has signed up for a shift and knows that their son hasn't yet been committed, ask your

son to contact his patrol leader and volunteer for that same shift.   If your son doesn't know how to get in touch

with his patrol leader, this can be found on the website in the "People" section.

Thanks to all who have signed up so far.    If you haven't had the chance, please double check the adult roster;   it's upd

to date through 7/12 pm.      We still need folks - especially for Monday and Tuesday.    If you can do a partial shift on either Monday

or Tuesday please let me know;    we may do a bit of "mix and match" since these shifts are a bit longer.

The Ann Arbor Art Fair - Aside from Troop 8's summer camp, the biggest summer event in Ann Arbor!

Troop 8 will again be supporting the Art Fair staff as one of our annual fundraising events.

For those new to this event (or, at least, T8's participation in it!) here are the important details.

What we do:

We provide two kinds of support to the Art Fair staff - first, setup and teardown assistance;  and second, sale of drinking water during the fair.

Who does it ?

We all do!   Both Scouts and parents are asked to participate.   There's something for everyone to do.   Some of the jobs on setup and

teardown (Monday, Tuesday and Saturday) are more physically demanding, so if that's a problem, sign up for water sales during the fair.

Where is it?

Well, there are actually 4 different fairs.   We work with the ORIGINAL ANN ARBOR STREET ART FAIR.  These are the folks located

on campus between Hill Auditorium and the Michigan Union.

When is it?   We start work on Monday, 7/16, and wrap up Saturday 7/21 in the early evening. The actual Fair operating days

are Wednesday through Saturday.

Signing Up--- Scouts should be in contact with Nathan Maholdwald... or he will be in contact with you!

Adults should contact Judi Taylor or Brad Pritts (see the link for "adult field leader" for contact info). Let him know your preferred shifts.  We ask    We will periodically update the signup list on the attachment below.      To save time and parking, it may be convenient to coordinate parents and Scouts;  if you sign up early you'll have the best flexibility!    And, if you are available during the daytime, please consider taking a daytime shift so that those whose work schedules are less flexible can have more options.
