Polar Bear/ Downhill Ski Day

Note: for scouts returning Sunday night, estimated time of return is 10-11pm.

Do you enjoy the extreme thrills of downhill skiing or the calm (not always calm) cross country skiing? Then you should come on the Polar Bear! We'll be heading up to Traverse City for the longish weekend (Ann Arbor doesn't have school on Monday) for a couple days of skiing (cross-country and downhill), cabin camping, snow camping (in tents and thelmas), snowball fights, snow shelter building, and more! Definitely a trip you won't want to miss!

Each patrol will be spending a full day cross-country skiing around Camp Greilick. This scout camp has some nice trails and hills that are great fun for beginners and experienced skiers alike. We'll also be spending a day skiing at Mt. Holiday, the local "bigger than Mt. Brighton" ski resort just down the road.

Because this trip will be cold (duh) you'll want to make sure you have the right gear and clothing so you stay warm. We'll be doing a gear prep night on Jan 8, and then a final gear check on Jan 16. It's very important that you have the right gear so you're not uncomfortable the whole weekend.

Sign up with your patrol leader at either meeting, and then we'll see you there!
