Patrol D Sailing and Biking Trip

An awesome, new, and exciting activity recently considered for additon to the Troop repertoire is Sailing.

Learn how to:

      ~Sail the high seas,

      ~Commandeer boats,

~and generally hone your pirate skills.

We will split up at the begining, and while one group goes sailing, the other will take a bike ride around Kent Lake.  Kent Lake in Kensington Park is a great place to sail due to it's sections of large open spaces.  We will hopefully get wind and teach you how to put together a boat, how to tack, and how to steer on the Mahowald's Trimaran.  You will even have the opportunity to be El Capitan.  We will reconverge for lunch, then switch groups.  The biking group will make a loop around the picturesque lake on Kensington's well maintained (and paved) bike trail.  In all likelyhood this group will also have the opportunity to play in the water if, as may be, they are done before the sailing group.  Make sure to bring water, and especially WIND/RAIN GEAR, as you are so exposed to the wind out on the lake.

With the trip looming, be sure to look at your calender to make sure you can be there.  If you do that, then when your patrol leader conacts you, you will know for certain to say yes!  Be sure to sign up, be cause there are limited number of seats on the vessel.
