Ski Weekend

This year we are going back to Holiday Valley, a place where everyday is Christmas. Well.... not really, but the skiing there compared to Michigan is its own present. Holiday Valley is a beautiful ski resort located in New York State. There skiing there is excellent and it has been a favorite location of the troop. Those of us who like to ski greens and blues will be able to find a much greater diversity of runs and those of us who like to ski blacks will find a location where we can further push ourselves. This trip will be great opportunity for you to both improve your ski skills and to chill on the slopes. In addition to chilling, which there will be plenty of, we will also get to hangout and sleep in CABINS. These HEATED cabins will have a kitchen and along with it, as part of troop tradition, your patrol leaders will plan the best of food.

For this trip, we will be leaving on at 5:30, Friday the 17th, and returning on Sunday the 18th at the 8:45 leaving you the Monday of this 3 day weekend to Finish all the homework you procrastinated. To stay warm and comfortable, you'll want to bring any clothing you would take skiing--plenty of layers, ski pants,a water proof jacket, ski goggles. And although we are staying in cabins, there's a limited number of beds and so you will need to bring a sleeping bag and pad. And since we aren't savages, bring your mess kit as well. Bring money for two on-the-road meals-- dinner Friday and Sunday. Also, when you are signing up make sure to tell your patrol leader whether you are renting ski and boots, or not. If you aren't renting then we assume that you are brining your own skis.

To attend this trip, you must have attended the Vermont trip or all the troop ski days excluding the one's that have been cancelled. If you fit into neither group and would like to attend, talk to your patrol leader; you aren't guaranteed a spot, but we may be able to work something out.
