Caving Weekend

Did you have fun going caving on summer camp with your patrol in Laurel Caverns? Would you want to see a new cave in Tennessee? Have you always wanted to sleep in a cave? Well fear not, because this weekend we are going to the Lost Sea Cave, which has the largest underground lake in the U.S.
We will be meeting on FRIDAY NIGHT AT MR FRETZ'S HOUSE AT 9:30PM, not at the troop room as usual. We will then depart for an 8 hour drive to the lost cave on saturday morning and we will be starting a CAVE tour at 6:30, and staying the night inside of the cave. Because we are not camping friday and we will be staying in the cave on saturday night, there is no need to bring tents.

The gear that you will need to bring is a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, 2 1-Liter Water Bottles layers (the cave is around 55 degrees year round), a headlamp (NECESSARY), a secondary source of light, rain gear, closed-toed shoes with good traction, and gaiters are recommended. Keep in mind that we will be crawling through dirty cave floors so any clothes that you wear will likely become caked in dirt. Additionally you will need money for two fast food road meals.

We will be very tight on car space so PACK LIGHT! Everything you need to bring should fit in a daypack.
