At this point you should have either attended all of the canoe nights or the flatwater day. You have now learned how to paddle flatwater and are ready to advance to the next level, moving water. We will now leave the confines of Argo Pond and advance to the free water of a slightly further upstream section of the Huron. We will meet up at Skip's Canoe Livery which will provide a bus shuttle further upsream where we can canoe down from back to the Livery. You will now be able to travel alot faster since you will have the current flowing with you. This is where we will engage in full speed rammings and canoe wars. Although moving water brings on its own set of hazards such as strainers and overhanging trees which we will need to educate you on before we set out on the river.
You will need to bring the same stuff as the canoe nights/flatwater day; non-cotton clothes, 1 or 2 water bottles, sunscreen and water shoes. You may also want to bring some sun glasses as we will be on the water for a long time. If you do wear sunglasses or perscription glasses you will want to get a retaining strap so that when you fall in the water you do not lose your glasses.
Lunch and snacks will be provided so there is no need to bring food.
