This summer the troop is returning to a past Troop 8 favorite expedition to Haliburton Scout Reserve in Canada Not to be confused with the oil company, Haliburton is a sprawling camp of 5000 spectacular acres with numerous programs and facilities, and a particularly extensive aquatics program.
An Island of Our Very Own
We’ll be camping out on an island in the middle of Lake Kennebi. The campsite is large enough for patrols to have their own area to setup tents and cooking areas, and the camp provides us with a dock, swimming area, and canoes to use for the week! Daily activities and camp program areas are accessible by a 10 minute canoe paddle back to the mainland.
You’ll get to practice all your camping skills and work together with your patrol, whether it’s buying and cooking food bought in the camp store or exploring the lake in our canoes. During the day you’ll get to go to awesome camp-run activities like kayaking, climbing, rappelling, sailing, mountain biking, and a low ropes course!
