I'm Jason. I was a scout in Troop 8 for seven years, and now am what passes for an adult volunteer around here. As a scout, I held many leadership positions, including : Not-even-APL, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, (All four of those in the span of one year!) Senior Patrol Leader (for like 1.75 years) and finally, Elder Patrol Z Scout who Does Nothing. (For the remaining .25 years.) Right now I'm a sophomore year at the University of Michigan, and I'm planning on doing pre-med. Much to the surprise of all of my friends, however, I want to be an English major. Simply shocking. Apart from Scouts and school, I like to do theatre, and have acted in a couple shows, including As You Like It, The Crucible, Parade, The Addams Family, and Macbeth. I hope to continue acting in college, even though I'm not a theatre student. My initial efforts have been largely unsuccessful, but if I keep auditioning, they have to let me in, right? If my theatre ambitions prove unsuccessful, I may embrace my writing and write for the University's premier newspaper, the Every Three Weekly. Recently, I've also had the crazy notion of picking up fencing. (They let anyone join, don't you know.)
The photo at left is me with a statue of Dr. John Pemberton in Atlanta. (I'm the one on the right.) Dr. Pemberton was a pharmacist, who happened to invent a medical concoction now known as Coca-Cola. He was a true American Hero. Or, depending on your point of view, a naive harbinger of obesity and cardiac problems. In any case, I consider him a stand-up guy.
And for those of you who say my shirt is spelled incorrectly, you're absolutely right! It should be Koka-Koly, but I suppose brand awareness is more important than technical grammar in this context.
